Inspection

Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI)

  • NDT Model 6000 EMI Unit with Pitco Hall-effect 100% Wall System, 4 ½” –13 5/8” OD capacity
  • NDT Model 5500 EMI Unit with Pitco Hall-effect 100% Wall System, 2 3/8” – 5 ½” OD capacity

OCTG owns five NDT EMI inspection systems. Four are NDT Model 6000 casing units, accommodating tubular having OD sizes from 2 3/8 through 13 5/8 inches. OCTG also operates one NDT Model 5500 tubing unit, accepting tubing or casing sizes ranging from 2 3/8 through 5 1/2 inches OD.

Full-Length Ultrasonic Inspection (UTFL)

  • Tubular Ultrasound Full-Body UTFL Inspection System, 2 3/8” – 13 5/8” OD capacity

Tubular Ultrasound, an OCTG affiliate, is a premier manufacturer and operator of high-speed, full-body tubular inspection systems. Tubular Ultrasound-designed UTFL test systems are currently operated at or for all major domestic oilfield tubular mills, as well as by most inspection service companies.

OCTG Services OCTG owns three full-length ultrasonic test systems. Tubular Ultrasound systems are the only domestic UTFL test systems based on the full-digital General Electric/Krautkramer electronics platform. The OCTG UTFL test system can inspect tubulars ranging in diameter from 2 3/8 through 13 5/8 inches OD.

Plain-End Hydrostatic Testing - OCTG is installing a plain-end hydrostatic testing line to complement its casing threading services. Completion is slated for late July 2011.
